What Spiritual Awakening Looks Like

8-signs

Ever had an amazing dream? A dream so vivid that you will forever remember. I only have had a small few that fall into that category. When I was about five or six I dreamt that everyone was a fruit or a vegetable. My mother was a tomato and our bird a banana.

Ok, moving beyond produce, the dream I really want to talk about is a dream represented my spiritual awakening. I do not recall when the dream happened, but it was in 2011 or 2012. It was during this time I had lost 65 pounds, a major change for me. In the dream I was taking old clothing that no longer would fit me (since I lost so much weight) to my church. I wanted to donate my clothes to the church, maybe they could give them to people who needed them. I become locked in the church and the priest told me that I need to keep my clothing. I said to him that I no longer needed them and I wanted to donate them. He insisted that I keep my clothing, they belong to me. I left the clothing and busted the locked doors open. When I exited the church and began to float. I then floated over the church. The people outside looked up and said “look at the angel”.

The dream is filled with so much symbolism. Looking at this dream it represents my spiritual awakening, a transcendence. The clothing which I was giving the church, but they refused to take can be seen as the teachings/dogma I no longer need. They also represent the layers of identity which have been shed and are being released. Being trapped in the Church, a last ditch effort to keep me under control. Floating over the church and being called an angel by the onlookers is symbolic of rising above the religious institution and unifying with the source directly, becoming angel-like.

This is one dream I will also remember and never forget. I think it sums up the meaning of true spirituality. Letting go of the labels, releasing the layers of ego and connecting with Spirit directly. No middle man (church), just you and Spirit.
