Tarot Fortune ~ July 5th 2011
0After a great week of using the Oracle of Visions deck we now return to regular tarot fortunes. This week I am using the “Wheel of the Year Tarot”
Knight of Swords & 9 of Pentacles
“Be fast to act when a new opportunity shows up”
Full Fortune
The 9 of Pentacles shows a man gathering fruit that he has planted. This signifies that now is the time to start harvesting that which you have been waiting on. Opportunities are open today; start seeking new avenues to prosper. There are no worries today, everything seems to be taken care of, and all is well. The Knight of Swords shows that we may need to act quickly when an opportunity shows itself to us. You may need to be more assertive and go after what you desire. Your secret weapon for success is your skill with words.
Oracle Fortune ~ June 29th 2011
0Fast Fortune
“We seek change from dissatisfaction”
Card 15 shows a woman holding a letter and rose. She represents matters of which are coming to an end or conclusion. What is this letter? Is it a good bye letter? Is she giving it or receiving it? These are questions Ciro asks of this card. To me it looks like a letter to someone who she never was able to say good bye to, the rose reminds me of flowers we leave at gravesites. She wants closure from a situation that remains open.
Card 50, shows a mermaid in a glass sphere. She enters a world of imagination and wonder. This world provides a sense of escape from reality. We seek escape from reality often when things are tough, when we are unhappy with our live and the turn of events. This card represents a desire for an alternative to the present circumstance. Ciro states that this new world may be intoxicating and make us discontent.
Together these cards speak of a desire to end something in the hopes of finding something new and ideal. You may find yourself today dissatisfied with something and because of this you want to change the situation to make it match this ideal dream you think things should be like. Nothing is truly “perfect” and the grass is always greener on the other side.

0“Reflect on the past in order to find your path to the future”
Full Fortune
Card 22 shows a man viewing images (cards from the deck) on a projector. These images are of his past. He reflects on the images and the impacts the memories have had on him. Ciro states that we should not dwell on the past and that our memory may not remember the accuracy of an event but the emotional feeling to the memory.
Card 52 shows a woman standing on a globe pointing forward. She is symbolic of the future. She points outward, to goals and objectives. She has something to obtain and points to the way. Ciro states that having a goal in life, no matter how small makes the difference between a day to day existence and a fuller life.
Together these cards show two opposites, past and future, reflection and direction. Combined these cards ask that we should reflect on our past, dreams, errors, mistakes, desires and go out to obtain our goals. We may want to revisit old goals that we have lost or forgotten and see if we can attempt them once more.
Oracle Fortune ~ June 27th 2011
0This week I am doing things a little different. Instead of Tarot Fortunes, I am doing Oracle Fortunes. I will be using the Oracle of Visions which is created by Ciro Marchetti, the creator of the tarot decks, The Gilded Tarot, The Tarot of Dreams and The Legacy of the Divine Tarot.
“Something waits to be born, make preparations for what awaits to arrive”
Full Fortune
Card 23 shows a woman in the forest, with a tree tattoo on her back. On her arm is a nest with eggs in it. A bird sits on her hand and in the distance we wind a unicorn. This card speaks to me as our relationship and connection with nature. The tree on her back symbolizes being grounded and rooted in the earth. Ciro states in his book that she provides shelter and is symbolic of the tree.
Card 5 depicts a flying boat with birds flying over it. A woman with a flying contraption that reminds me of something De Vinci would have made is about to jump off and see if it will work. This speaks to me as a leap of faith, not knowing an outcome but taking that chance to see if it will work. This card is a positive move forward, taking a direction into the future. Ciro states the same that this is the leap of faith as with The Fool in Tarot, but Ciro says that unlike The Fool we do not need to be innocently leaping. We can educate ourselves, test and asses the dangers before we jump.
Together these cards show that today we need to ground ourselves firmly in the earth. Next then we need to take a risk. The eggs in card 23 will have to hatch one day, they represent something that will be born. Card 5 shows the steps to take before the eggs can hatch. Taking a leap of faith.

0Temperance & 4 of Wands
“You need to heal your pains”
Full Fortune
Today is ruled by Temperance. The major issue that is focused on is healing. You have become wounded is some manner, it can be psychical pain or of the spiritual/mind. Temperance says that you need to wash away the cause of this pain and start fresh. The 4 of Wands indicates that this may be related to family or your relationship. The 4 of Wands shows today that foundations are strong to move things to the next level.
Tarot Fortune ~ June 20th 2011
0The Moon & 6 of Wands
“Mystery is your best weapon to victory”
Full Fortune
The Moon rules the day, which brings into focus your emotion and feelings. You may feel more sensitive that useful today. In this card a woman holds a baby, with a dog next to her. This may symbolize the desire to protect and guard something. The 6 of Wands indicates a large victory is to be won today. The people bowing down reflect your authority over others and the willingness of others to follow you. Together The Moon and 6 of Wands may imply devious actions may be needed for you to be victorious. On a more innocent and less dubious manner, this combo tells you it is time to get creative with how you obtain your goals. Today’s advice is to not let the cat out of the bag; mystery is your best weapon.

04 of Wands & The Lovers
“Freedom is in the air, celebrate and rejoice in love”
Full Fortune
Happy Friday, today is ruled by The Lovers. Expect issues regarding love, romance and partnerships to in focus today. The Lovers may show that this Friday and weekend may be heating up romantically. The Lovers also represents choices and personal dilemmas. Expect to be pulled by two different desires and or needs. The 4 of Wands is reinforcing the energy of The Lovers especially with partnerships and any sort of union. Something is unifying today. The 4 of Wands shows great foundations, focus energy and efforts. The 4 of Wands signals that something is to be celebrated, a goal has been reached. Freedom seems granted to you, well it is Friday, and so we naturally become “free” from the work week. Today is a time not to worry, you should feel blessed.
Tarot Fortune June 16th 2011
2Strength & The Moon
“Don’t let a fear or anxiety rule over you”
Full Fortune
We have a lot of energy present today. Today is co-ruled by Strength & The Moon. Since we just experienced a full moon / lunar eclipse on the 15th the effects are still around. The Moon itself represents what are only half known and are of partial truths. The light of the moon is dim, we can see in the night but we can’t see perfectly clear, our imaginations may take over and play with our minds. Expect today to be filled with mystery and a certain amount of uncertainty. You may be faced with personal fears or a worry. On the good side The Moon brings out or creative sides, use your imagination in productive ways rather than a force against you. Strength shows that we need to stand our ground, don’t let a fear, the unknown and mysterious take you over. Strength says that you should turn the energy of The Moon into a force of fortitude. Like I previously said, use your imagination in your favor. Listen to your intuition, go with your guts
Tarot Fortune – June 15th 2011
0King of Swords & The Hanged Man
“You may feel persecuted by those who are in power”
Full Fortune
Today we revisit the fortune from Monday. The King of Swords once again appears alongside The Hanged Man. On Monday we had the 8 of Cups, which told us it was time to leave and to seek what we are missing. For those who have decided to make this move and search for the missing puzzle piece you are now going to experience a wave of Hanged Man energy. Sacrifice is the first thing that comes to my mind, so you decided to seek that which you are missing, in order to do this you will need to sacrifice something. There is a strong spiritual lesson in all this which will lead to personal growth. The Hanged Man is also a signal to let go and go with the flow of events. Surrender and see what happens. The Hanged Man tells me that there is going to be a period of waiting. The King of Swords shows that while waiting you will be in a state of analytic thinking, focusing on what you have decided over the last two days.
On the dark side to all of this, looking at these cards from an external/environmental aspect The King of Swords cautions us not to get on the wrong side of judgment from those in power, you may be made an example of or persecuted for something you did not do as represented by The Hanged Man.

In the footsteps of the Oracle
1The ancient Greeks were well known for their oracles, the most notable was the Oracle at Delphi. People would travel across the Greek world to seek the advice of the Oracle. The oracle had a long history spanning from the 8th century BC until it’s closure by emperor Theodosius I in 395 AD.
How there what was asked of the oracle would be questions that could be answered in a YES or NO response. Questions where also asked about what should be done to appease the gods. Greeks were always making sure the gods were not mad at them. It was a rule of thumb that you do not ask for a specific prediction or outcome. If asked about the future, the oracle would be truthful but her answers were ambiguous. As the case with King Croesus. King Croesus asked the Oracle whether he should go to war with King Cyrus of Persia or negotiate terms of peace. The Oracle’s answer was that who ever crosses the river Halys will become the ruler of a great empire or another version stated If you cross the river, a great empire will be destroyed. Believing the response favorable, Croesus attacked, but it was his own empire that ultimately was destroyed by the Persians. Hows that for Greek irony?
What does this all mean? The reason you should not ask about the future and the idea of divination was meant to be used as a means to understand your present more than a future that is out of your hands and up to the fates/gods. Now this principle can apply to tarot. I do however feel that we can ask questions about the future but just like the oracle’s predictions our predictions can become ambiguous because we have to decode the cards and come up with a predictions based on the images. When events come to pass than we will either be like King Croesus, seeing the message we wanted or if we will see the real message. Like oracle I do feel that tarots true gift is reflecting the present, understanding the past and using it as a means to set the pathway to a future you create.
