1Ever wonder what it would be like if the tarot cards speed dated? Here is a creative way to learn about the characters in the cards.
Round 1 – The Sun & The Moon
Sunny & Luna
Sunny – Hello, nice to meet you. I’m Sunny whats your name?
Luna – Hi Sunny, I am Luna.
Luna – So do you speed date often or this your first time?
Sunny – First time, but I am loving it, it is a lot of fun. What about you?
Luna – First time, I am frightened to death lol It feels a little surreal.
Luna – So tell me about yourself, do you have hobbies?
Sunny – Yes well I love horse riding. Nothing like a good horse ride on a bright sunny day.
Luna – I would be too scared to ride a horse, I rode one when I was young and it was a bad experience. I cried so much and often have nightmares about it.
Sunny – What about you? Do you have a hobby?
Luna – I like to paint, write poetry and I read tarot. Hey is it too bright in here? You think they could make it a little darker in here.
Sunny – It seems fine to me, I like a lot of light. Darkness is depression. You read tarot? That a little woo woo for me, thats all superstitious BS. You have to see things logically.
Luna – Well I find tarot to very therapeutic, it allows me to connect to my subconscious.
Sunny – Whatever….
Luna – Ok, you dont have to be rude.
Sunny – You dont have to be such a hippy.
Luna – [Gasp!] Jerk!
DING – Everyone move to the next table.

Tarot Fortune 1/11/2011
02 of Coins & 6 of Cups
Fast Fortune
“You can’t move into the future if the future you want is your past”
Full Fortune
I feel today is a good day or at least at day with least conflict or problems. The Two of Coins shows that today will provoke our need to balance different tasks or obligations in our lives. The Two of Coins is playful and somewhat comical in the Legacy of the Divine tarot. The jester riding a bike does not look threating. There is one thing in this card that seems odd. Riding on water seems counterproductive, it seems that he can’t really move forward because water is not solid. It does not provide a foundation for movement. You may feel a stuck in your current situation, trying to deal with what is on your plate. The Six of Cups shows a woman laying in the grass dreaming of “good old times”, representing nostalgia. On a down side this card is about idealistic attitudes. Combining these two cards I feel that your are working towards a goal that seems to idealistic, this is why you seem to be stuck and not moving. Your vision is to unreal that anything you do seems to be worthless. I also feel that you may trying to create a life from your past, the future is not the past.

Myth of the fortuneteller
3There are some readers who still use the word, and proudly. I call myself a tarot reader, it is simple. I use the title of fortuneteller occasionally when describing to people what I do who do not understand exactly what I do. Everyone knows what a fortuneteller is. There is however some who have a misconstrued idea of what a fortuneteller is. I am writing this blog because of these misconceptions or myths. I read a blog today about why a fellow tarot peer does not call themselves a fortuneteller. In their argument there are statements that I do not agree with and wish to provide my views and opinions.
Here are five statements about fortunetelling that I felt needed commenting.
The arguments provided in this blog I read are all hasty generalizations. Saying that fortunetellers and fortunetelling is this, this and that. You can’t make generalizations because everyone is unique. I also feel that the arguments are misplaced. Instead these arguments should be directed toward fake and fraudulent readers. Fake readers go for the “WOW” factor, they put on a show. They tell you what you know, this is cold reading. They tell you want you want to hear not what you need to hear. They want co-dependent clients to keep the money coming in.
The name fortuneteller only means someone who predicts the future, that is it. On its own the name is not bad, it is the actions of all of us as readers which determines what that term means. If fraudulent people run around calming to be fortunetellers then that bad PR. However if we uphold respectability and ethics we raise the term fortuneteller out of the murky awkward abyss we place it in. We define what fortunetelling telling, fortunetelling does not define us.
